Buses and trains and the taxis and planes
Metal glass and oil and gas keep all these people sane
they're moving fast
They watch their windows change

I stayed behind to wait for someone I can't find
So I watch the people moving just to kill some time
But I'm seeing different faces every time I open my eyes

The grass and the trees and the flowers and streets
They grow and die and grow and die
I watch this as I eat
It happens fast
I think I'll shift my weight

People watch the blur outside their windowpanes
But inside their cars they feel a softer pace
I'm stuck outside and there is a time-lapse around my face

Each time I try to run I only seem to run in place
And I've been waiting here alone so long that I don't recognize this place
That's because there's a time-lapse around my face
